Diabetic Retinopathy

Diabetic Retinopathy This article is only available in the PDF format. Download the PDF to view the article, as well as its associated figures and tables. Abstract Dr Urrets-Zavalia has written a very readable and instructive text Diabetic Retinopathy. It is clinically oriented and contains a great deal of useful information. As he states in his preface, he has not compiled an exhaustive treatise but rather has gathered his thoughts, as well as those of many others, on the problem of diabetes and the eye and the modes of therapy for the diabetic ocular complications. I enjoyed the book and found particularly helpful the orientation of the illustrations in close relation to the descriptive text. The book is done in a small-print, double-column format. This presents no difficulty. There are a few typographical errors. Overall, I believe the book is informative and clinically valuable. Of course, there are controversial concepts and approaches presented. One must realize, as the author points out, that this book is basically a compendium of his beliefs and experiences concerning diabetic retinopathy. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Archives of Ophthalmology American Medical Association
