Nuclear Ophthalmology: Dynamic Function Studies in Intraocular Disease

Download the PDF to view the article, as well as its associated figures and tables. Abstract For the last ten years, O'Rourke has worked on nuclear direct measurement methods within the eye. He has been especially interested in intraocular dynamic functions. He has developed methods that give accurate and repeatable results from the untouched human eye and from the animal eye into which tracer substances have been injected. These methods have already given valuable results on the complex relationship between inflammatory processes and microvascular flow. The author could also show that water loading slows rather than accelerates the flow of aqueous humor. This physiologic information may eventually be of great importance in the future development of surgical and medical ocular treatment. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Archives of Ophthalmology American Medical Association
