Vitreous Cellular Reaction: Association With Reticulum Cell Sarcoma of Brain

Vitreous Cellular Reaction: Association With Reticulum Cell Sarcoma of Brain Abstract • A 33-year-old man had a two-year history of uveitis associated with a primary reticulum cell sarcoma of the brain. At autopsy, inflammatory cells were present throughout the vitreous and no intraocular reticulum cell sarcoma was present. The pathogenesis of this cellular reaction is obscure, but the reaction may precede the infiltration of the eye by malignant reticulum cells. It is important to recognize the association of uveitis and neurologic signs as radiotherapy may substantially prolong life in patients with this association. References 1.
