Abstract To the Editor. —This letter should have been written a year ago. However, everything was put aside in preparation for the International Congress in Munich. Now, since so many American colleagues were in Germany (the American group was the largest of all groups present, including the German!), I wonder what I can say that would still be new in regard to German ophthalmology. Many of our colleagues from the United States visited the German ophthalmology clinics and made contact with German ophthalmologists. I will, therefore, confine myself to several special problems which concern us at the present time.Before I do this, I would like to thank all the colleagues in the United States who have contributed by their passive and active participation in the International Congress at Munich to its successful execution.
