Chloroquine Retinopathy: Evaluation by Fluorescein Fundus Angiography

Chloroquine Retinopathy: Evaluation by Fluorescein Fundus Angiography Abstract The maculas of patients with chloroquine retinopathy exhibit a dramatic fluorescence when studied by intravenous fluorescein angiography. This fluorescence is interpreted as being due to a dysplasia of the macular pigment epithelium, which allows the underlying choroidal fluorescence to show through. We think that fluorescein fundus angiography is a new and valuable adjunct in the diagnosis and evaluation of chloroquine retinopathy. References 1.
