Abstract To the Editor: —With reference to the "New Replaced Corneal Suture" described by A. Lachner, M.D., in the July, 1954, issue of the Archives, page 129, and discussed by M. A. Shah, M.B., M.S., in the December, 1954, issue, page 970, and by F. A. Williamson-Noble in the January, 1955, issue, page 192, I should like to say that during my residency, in the fall of 1953, my interest in the preplaced suture, after reading McLean's article in the Archives (23:554 [March] 1940) lead me to arrive at the same technique as that described by Dr. Lachner, but for the one variation which I feel completes the technique by facilitating grasping of the suture and eliminating its being frayed.
