Abstract This is a monograph dealing with the subject of corneal transplantation. It is divided into eleven chapters. In the first chapter a brief review of the literature is made. In the second chapter the different types of corneal transplantation are discussed. The author believes that in autokeratoplasties success ought to be obtained in 95 per cent of cases and that in homokeratoplasties success may be expected in 80 per cent. Of the types of autokeratoplasty, Kraupa's technic by rotation is the one that gives best results. Of the homokeratoplasties, the partial penetrating type is the simplest and the one that gives best results. In the third chapter donor's material, technic of transplantation and size and fixation of the graft are considered. The author believes cadavers to be the best source for obtaining corneal grafts.
