OCULAR MANIFESTATIONS OF MALIGNANT NASOPHARYNGEAL TUMORS: REPORT OF CASES

OCULAR MANIFESTATIONS OF MALIGNANT NASOPHARYNGEAL TUMORS: REPORT OF CASES Abstract Considerable has been written about nasopharyngeal tumors in journals on rhinology, otology, neurology, general surgery and pathology, but there is practically nothing on this subject in the ophthalmic literature. In many cases the first symptoms are referred to or about the eyes. The ophthalmologist may be the first to be consulted in cases of a nasopharyngeal growth, or he may be called on to explain the ocular signs. This form of tumor is not uncommon, and it is important for the ophthalmologist to acquaint himself with the condition. In some cases the group of symptoms immediately suggest the diagnosis, but often there may be only one, two or three symptoms which should make one think of the possibility. The diagnosis is usually difficult, but if the subject is borne in mind and a careful examination is made, the condition will be diagnosed more frequently. New,1 in his discussion of References 1.
