Abstract GENERAL NEWS National Muscular Dystrophy Research Foundation Grant. —The National Muscular Dystrophy Research Foundation has made a $7,000 grant for the first year of a three-year research project to the Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, Texas.The study, which will be made by the Department of Internal Medicine, will deal with respiratory pigments in muscles. The scientists of the Department of Internal Medicine will first concern themselves with muscle tissues in normal animals and then attempt to find differences in tissues of animals who have a condition which resembles dystrophy. Later they will work with human patients.In making the announcement of the grant, F. R. C. Brown, Foundation president, said the grant was made possible by those who have answered an appeal for funds made by Foundation poster boy, Raymond Waller, of Port Arthur.
