Abstract This book contains the proceedings of a symposium on the cerebellum sponsored by the Department of Neurology of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. The editors have grouped the contributions into three general classes: Historical and Anatomical; Physiological and Clinical, and Pathological. There is a total of 20 chapters and, between groups of chapters, the discussions among the participants have been recorded. The book begins with an interesting historical review of investigations on the cerebellum, followed by a series of contributions to cerebellar anatomy from degeneration, developmental, light microscope, and electron microscope studies. There then follow a number of excellent physiological papers dealing with cerebellar input studies, activity of elements in the cerebellum during movement in awake animals, and the influence of cerebellar efferents on their target nuclei. In the final section there appear several papers on the clinical and pathological features of various cerebellar disorders and http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Archives of Neurology American Medical Association
