Shepherd, MD, DSc, dean of the Mayo Medical School, Rochester, Minn, cites research advances of recent years but notes that "much more needs to be learned at the basic level." David and Goliath Leukocytes can kill trichomonads despite the parasites' larger size, a University of Virginia (Charlottesville) researcher reports.Michael Rein, MD, told the American Society of Clinical Investigation meeting in Washington, DC, that this may explain in part why some women combat trichomoniasis more effectively than others.
