Senile Dementia.

Senile Dementia. This article is only available in the PDF format. Download the PDF to view the article, as well as its associated figures and tables. Abstract A symposium of 25 leading European specialists which concerned senile dementia, with focus on its clinical aspects, provides the interesting subject matter of this condensed little volume. The book is divided into five main parts, each one worthy of careful study. Every part is followed by valuable discussion enriching each presentation of psychogeriatric research with new points of view. Specially noteworthy is the life-affirming attitude expressed (1) in the discussion of therapeutic possibilities, and (2) in the counseling regarding psychopharmacological treatment. References to chromosome studies and genetic factors are helpful. The book also provides an informative bibliography. Increasingly great now is the need for understanding of the psychometry of advancing age. I am pleased to recommend this report as a very useful resource for the clinician and investigator in the field of gerontological health. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Archives of Internal Medicine American Medical Association
