Pathology. This article is only available in the PDF format. Download the PDF to view the article, as well as its associated figures and tables. Abstract The fifth edition of Anderson's Pathology retains the format of previous editions, but many chapters have been rewritten and many excellent new illustrations have been added. This widely-used text and reference book has been divided into two volumes for ease of handling. Sections that have been completely rewritten include those discussing leprosy, tuberculosis, spirochetal and venereal diseases, protozoal and helminthic diseases, diabetes mellitus, the lungs, heart, blood vessels, gastrointestinal tract and pancreas. An attempt has been made to include many recent advances brought about by newer methods of study (ie, electron microscopy) but these have not detracted from the basic presentation of diseases. Considering the limitations imposed by the broad scope of the subject, the multiple authorship and the effort to have this volume serve both as text and reference, Anderson's remains the outstanding effort of its type. The sophomore medical student will find this book too tedious and detailed http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Archives of Internal Medicine American Medical Association
