Franklin Memorial Lectures was issued under the editorship of John M. Dorsey who is presently incumbent of the Leo M. Franklin Memorial Chair in Human Relations at Wayne State University. The object of the lectures held under the auspices of the Franklin lectureship is to develop humanism and humaneness. One would suppose from reading the titles of the lectures that they were so diverse that even the common theme of humanism would not keep them together. We have Bernard Mayo talking on "Thomas Jefferson's Faith in Human Integrity," Wilbert Snow discussing the "Individuality in the Work of Ralph Waldo Emerson," Milton Rosenbaum talking about "The Whole Individual: A Health View," Harold Basilius discussing "Goethe's Conception of Individuality and Personality," and John M. Dorsey's "The Growth of Self-Insight." Surprisingly enough a unifying theme does hold them together.
