Abstract The internist, general practitioner, and orthopedist are confronted with foot disorders daily. It is obvious that there is a need for an adequate and ready reference book on the subject of the foot. Dr. Lewin's book "The Foot and Ankle" fills this need. The author, in his many years of experience, has accumulated a vast knowledge that pertains to the abnormal foot. His clear description and many illustrations make this a valuable reference book. The new edition follows the same outline—discussing each disease as to etiology, pathology, mechanics, diagnosis, and treatment. This has been done with greater brevity than in the previous editions. In the past ten years advances have been made in many conditions of the foot, such as polio and cerebral palsy, and Dr. Lewin has brought this information up-to-date.
