Pearly Penile Papules on the Shaft

Pearly Penile Papules on the Shaft Abstract Pearly penile papules are common lesions located on the corona and sulcus of the penis. A young man with ectopic pearly papules on the penile shaft is described. We believe this represents a new and distinct clinical subtype of pearly penile papules that could easily be confused with molluscum contagiosum or condylomata acuminata. Report of a Case. A 30-year-old Middle Eastern man presented for evaluation and treatment of several small bumps on the penis. The lesions had been present for 3 months and were asymptomatic. Physical examination revealed two 2-mm skin-colored, dome-shaped, glistening papules located on the ventral surface of the penile shaft. There were multiple similar papules arranged in two rows on the corona (Figure 1).The diagnosis of pearly penile papules was instantly made for the coronal lesions. In addition, the diagnosis of probable molluscum contagiosum or condylomata acuminata was made for the shaft lesions. The Figure 1. References 1. Johnson BI, Baxter DL. Pearly penile papules .
