Abstract It is not often that one has the opportunity to review a book written by his teachers. It can be a difficult assignment, but, in this case, it was made fun by the quality of their book. The book is the second in a series of books on dermatologic surgery written by these experienced clinicians and published by Year Book Medical Publishers Inc. The first, Basics of Dermatologic Surgery, has been well received and well read because of its excellence. The book under review, dealing basically with cosmetic and aesthetic dermatologic surgery, is a good counterpart and is equally valuable. The authors begin by defining the important general principles of office cosmetic surgery, appropriately stressing the importance of physician-patient contact, interaction, and expectations. The authors then discuss benign facial lesions. This is a complete, if somewhat biased, approach to treatment based on their collective years of experience.
