Abstract It is a great pity that the latest articles abstracted in a 1979 yearbook must be from one to two years old. The text of this volume closed at the end of 1978, and the book reached readers at the end of 1979. It should really be called the 1978 yearbook; this would at least identify it as the place to look for 1978 articles. But one can understand that the sales department would not like that very well. And this book is by no means the only thing around that is not what it seems to be. Richard L. Dobson, MD, late of Buffalo, now of Charleston, SC, has taken over the yearbook editorship from the team of Frederick Malkinson, MD, and Roger Pearson, MD, who had done it for the past eight years.
