Nevertheless, in the scientific arena, our allegiance must first be to reality and not to practicality.To maintain international credibility, future authors should avoid such adjectives as "pink" and "salmon-colored," unless specifically applied to white or light skin. Then, of course, an attendant description of the dermatosis in question, as it appears in skin of a darker hue, would be educationally appropriate.
