Disseminated Superficial Actinic Porokeratosis: Clinical Studies and Experimental Production of Lesions

Disseminated Superficial Actinic Porokeratosis: Clinical Studies and Experimental Production of... Abstract Lesions of disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis (DSAP) were experimentally produced following prolonged artificial ultraviolet light radiation. DSAP, a genodermatosis with an autosomal dominant mode of inheritance, is disseminated primarily on sun exposed areas of the skin of adults, the largest number of lesions being on the extremities. Lesions often increase in number and become more prominent during summer months when sun exposure is great. It is important that DSAP be distinguished from porokeratosis of Mibelli because some lesions of DSAP mimic precancerous actinic keratoses and other conditions. DSAP is also more common in occurrence in some geographic areas with increased levels of sunlight. References 1.
