Multiple Keratoacanthomas: Relation to Jamarsan Therapy of Pemphigus Foliaceus

Multiple Keratoacanthomas: Relation to Jamarsan Therapy of Pemphigus Foliaceus Abstract The eruption of multiple keratoacanthomas (KA) on the exposed areas of a patient with pemphigus foliaceus treated with the Brazilian tar preparation (Jamarsan) emphasizes the strong carcinogenic properties of the method. Two types of tumors occured on the light-exposed areas of the skin. Treatment with corticosteroids has decreased the necessity for local therapy with potential carcinogenic action. References 1. Abstract The eruption of multiple keratoacanthomas (KA) on the exposed areas of a patient with pemphigus foliaceus treated with the Brazilian tar preparation (Jamarsan) emphasizes the strong carcinogenic properties of the method. Two types of tumors occured on the light-exposed areas of the skin. Treatment with corticosteroids has decreased the necessity for local therapy with potential carcinogenic action. References 1.
