Abstract This is the second translation into Italian of an American textbook of dermatology, since Duhring in 1877. It appears in two volumes comprising 1,291 pages and 700 illustrations. Manganotti chose to be a coauthor and to use his own illustrations. His personal views and those of Italian investigators are expressed on several topics.
