Abstract To the Editor: You were generous in offering to publish what I said about the Archives of Dermatology editorial activities on March 1, 1965 at the 85th annual meeting of the American Dermatological Association. Here it is.I wish to discuss briefly the report on the Archives of Dermatology presented on the opening day by our highly respected editor. No one who has not edited a journal has any real comprehension of his labors and tribulations, just as no bachelor can appreciate "The XV Joys of Marriage." The credit and sympathy due him and his Editorial Staff I do not withhold. I refer to only a fraction of his report, which I remember, perhaps not perfectly accurately, as stating that the Editorial Staff accepted 490 items last year, 80 % of those submitted, and 20 % were rejected or withdrawn.
