Abstract This is the second edition of an excellent compact book on medical photography. The illustrations, in color and black and white, are clear from both the photographic and medical viewpoints. The first six chapters are devoted to the principles in picture taking—fundamentals, equipment and space, simplified techniques, lens properties, positioning and handling, and lighting. Chapters 7 through 9 discuss the principles of photographic printing—films and filters and color processes, printing methods, paper selection, quality control, and print quality. Chapter 10 is devoted to the infrared techniques. Photomicrography is not discussed in this book. Chapter 2 on equipment and space contains valuable information on the requirements for the use of photoflood lighting and press type cameras. Diagrams for the proper wiring of the dimmer circuits are presented for those addicted to do-it-yourself projects.
