Abstract Syphilis. Presented by Dr. S. E. Sweitzer. A man, aged 49, three years previous to presentation developed an erythematous patch below the right eye, which spread over the bridge of the nose on to the left cheek, with "butterfly" distribution.He stated that he had a chancre in 1906, with no treatment. The Wassermann test of the blood and the Kahn reaction were 4 plus.The lesion on the cheek resembled lupus erythematosus but showed considerable induration and some scarring with ectropion of the right eyelid. Syphilis Nodular (Resembling Subcutaneous Sarcoid). Presented by Dr. H. E. Michelson. A woman, aged 45, was presented because of numerous subcutaneous and cutaneous nodules in the skin of the face and chest. The nodules were hard and of a yellowish color. The Wassermann reaction was negative, and the biopsy showed closely packed perivascular infiltrate and some plasma cells.
