The Na 23 (p, p 0 ), (p, p 1 ), (p, α 0 ), and (p, α 1 ) differential cross sections were measured in the energy range E p = 1.08 – 4.15 MeV with an overall resolution of 400 eV full width at half maximum. Resonance parameters were obtained for 94 levels with a multilevel, multichannel R...
The use of the complex angular momentum plane for describing nuclear resonance reactions is investigated in detail. Many statements, commonly accepted, are critically reconsidered. Particular attention is devoted to the role played by echoes of the resonances and by hard-core potentials. In this...
A new limit of the SU(3) symmetry scheme of the interacting boson-fermion model is suggested for deformed odd-mass nuclei. In this scheme, states are characterized by the intrinsic quantum number K , instead of the pseudo-orbital angular momentum of previous multi- j symmetries of this type. An...
The structure of Ag 111 was studied using the Pd 110 ( 3 He, pn γ ) Ag 111 reaction, which has populated an essentially complete set of low-energy states. The proton exit channel was isolated from competing reaction channels by operating γ -ray detectors in coincidence with a large-solid-angle...
Energy spectra of products with A=47– 143 emitted at 90° to the beam in the interaction of U 238 with 400 GeV protons were obtained from measured differential ranges. The products can be divided into two groups: those showing a single dominant energetic component and those with an additional...
Cross sections for elastic and inelastic scattering of monochromatic photons from Zr 90 have been measured for excitations between 8.1 and 10.5 MeV. The observed inelastic cross sections σ γ γ i correspond to transitions to the 0 2 + , 2 1 + , 2 2 + , and 2 3 + states. A simple theoretical...
Isovector pairing collective motion is treated by means of the generator coordinate method. In this scheme, the isospin and number projection is performed analytically by the recognition of symmetry properties in the generalized Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer wave functions. Among the results...
New attributions of quantum numbers have been recently proposed for levels of Pt 195 , on the basis of B(E2) and excitation energies. It is shown that the one neutron transfer reaction results reasonably support these attributions.
Predictions for magnetic moments and β -decay transition strengths of mirror nuclei can be made on the basis of empirical correlations between these quantities, and the technique is illustrated by deducing the magnetic moments of Mg 23 , Cl 33 , Ar 37 , Ti 43 , Fe 51 , and Ni 55 .
