In the study of algebraic groups the representative functions related to monoid algebras over fields provide an important tool which also yields the finite dual coalgebra of any algebra over a field. The purpose of this note is to transfer this basic construction to monoid algebras over...
We establish a Zavadskij-type reduction for orders Λ in a finite-dimensional algebra over a complete field K with respect to a discrete valuation. For a suitable monomorphism u of Λ -lattices, we define a derived order δ u Λ , and a functor ∂ u between Λ - and δ u Λ -lattices which...
Standard results on the connection between sequential functions and wreath product of semigroups are generalized to infinite words. The definition of wreath product is first extended to ω -semigroups, the proper algebraic framework to study infinite words. The definition is used to extend the...
In this paper, we shall find some simple combinatorial criteria for a string algebra to be tilted or quasi-tilted. As a consequence, this will enable one to construct a lot of new examples of tilted algebras. We shall also determine all quasi-tilted string algebras which are not tilted.
It is shown that any triangular derivation on k ( X 1 , X 2 , X 3 , X 4 ) sending X i to a monomial has kernel generated by at most four elements, hence is finitely generated. An explicit formula for the generators is given.
We construct two counterexamples to the open questions : is R 〈 n 〉 strong S (resp. catenary) when R ( n ) is ? The first example is a ring R such that R ( n ) is strong S and R 〈 n 〉 is not. The second is a stably strong S -domain R such that for all n ≥1 and n =∞, R ( n ) is...
Let G be a finite group. The question of how the properties of its minimal subgroups influence the structure of G is of considerable interest for some scholars. Several authors have investigated this question by using normal or quasinormal conditions. In this paper we use c -normal condition on...
