Improving n-Similarity Problem by Genetic Algorithm and Its Application in Text Document Resemblance

Mirhosseini, M.; Mashinchi, M.; Nezamabadi-pour, H.

2014 Fuzzy Information and Engineering

doi: 10.1016/j.fiae.2014.12.001

AbstractIn this paper, some methods of similarity measures between objects are presented with their properties reviewed. The study is conducted to propose a new method based on genetic algorithm in order to reduce the time complexity of finding most similar objects among the huge number of objects. This method is tested on two applications. The former aims at finding the most similar residents in a condominium, and the latter deals with finding the most similar -groups of text documents out of a great dataset. The simulation results show that the proposed method can efficiently improve the order of time complexity especially for the second application.

doi: 10.1016/j.fiae.2014.12.002

AbstractThe aim of this paper is to give some definitions of rough intuitionistic fuzzy ideal, rough intuitionistic fuzzy radical, rough prime (primary) intuitionistic fuzzy ideal and rough semiprime intuitionistic fuzzy ideal of an intuitionistic fuzzy subring, and also to give some properties of such ideals. Moreover, we give their nature under homomorphism.

On Nash Equilibrium Strategy of Two-person Zero-sum Games with Trapezoidal Fuzzy Payoffs

Dutta, Bapi; Gupta, S.K.

2014 Fuzzy Information and Engineering

doi: 10.1016/j.fiae.2014.12.003

AbstractIn this paper, we investigate Nash equilibrium strategy of two-person zero-sum games with fuzzy payoffs. Based on fuzzy max order, Maeda and Cunlin constructed several models in symmetric triangular and asymmetric triangular fuzzy environment, respectively. We extended their models in trapezoidal fuzzy environment and proposed the existence of equilibrium strategies for these models. We also established the relation between Pareto Nash equilibrium strategy and parametric bi-matrix game. In addition, numerical examples are presented to find Pareto Nash equilibrium strategy and weak Pareto Nash equilibrium strategy from bi-matrix game.

doi: 10.1016/j.fiae.2014.12.004

AbstractIn this paper, the notions of fuzzy dot subalgebras is introduced together with fuzzy normal dot subalgebras and fuzzy dot ideals of -algebras. The homomorphic image and inverse image are investigated in fuzzy dot subalgebras and fuzzy dot ideals of -algebras. Also, the notion of fuzzy relations on the family of fuzzy dot subalgebras and fuzzy dot ideals of -algebras are introduced with some related properties.

Approximate Nonnegative Symmetric Solution of Fully Fuzzy Systems Using Median Interval Defuzzification

Ezzati, R.; Khezerloo, S.; Mahdavi-Amiri, N.; Valizadeh, Z.

doi: 10.1016/j.fiae.2014.12.005

AbstractWe propose an approach for computing an approximate nonnegative symmetric solution of some fully fuzzy linear system of equations, where the components of the coefficient matrix and the right hand side vector are nonnegative fuzzy numbers, considering equality of the median intervals of the left and right hand sides of the system. We convert the fully fuzzy linear system to two real linear systems, one being related to the cores and the other being concerned with spreads of the solution. We propose an approach for solving the real systems using the modified Huang method of the Abaffy-Broyden-Spedicato (ABS) class of algorithms. An appropriate constrained least squares problem is solved when the solution does not satisfy nonnegative fuzziness conditions, that is, when the obtained solution vector for the core system includes a negative component, or the solution of the spread system has at least one negative component, or there exists an index for which the component of the spread is greater than the corresponding component of the core. As a special case, we discuss fuzzy systems with the components of the coefficient matrix as real crisp numbers. We finally present two computational algorithms and illustrate their effectiveness by solving some randomly generated consistent as well as inconsistent systems.

Fractional Goal Programming for Fuzzy Solid Transportation Problem with Interval Cost

Radhakrishnan, B.; Anukokila, P.

2014 Fuzzy Information and Engineering

doi: 10.1016/j.fiae.2014.12.006

AbstractIn this paper, we study a solid transportation problem with interval cost using fractional goal programming approach (FGP). In real life applications of the FGP problem with multiple objectives, it is difficult for the decision-maker(s) to determine the goal value of each objective precisely as the goal values are imprecise, vague, or uncertain. Therefore, a fuzzy goal programming model is developed for this purpose. The proposed model presents an application of fuzzy goal programming to the solid transportation problem. Also, we use a special type of non-linear (hyperbolic) membership functions to solve multi-objective transportation problem. It gives an optimal compromise solution. The proposed model is illustrated by using an example.

New Hesitant Fuzzy Operators

Thakur, G.S.; Thakur, Rekha; Singh, Ravi

2014 Fuzzy Information and Engineering

doi: 10.1016/j.fiae.2014.12.007

AbstractIn this paper, four new operators are proposed, defined and considered to study the new properties and identities on hesitant fuzzy sets. Since these operators are useful for different operation on hesitant fuzzy sets, the various theorems are proved by using them. The study of the proposed new operators has opened a new area of research and applications.
