New findings directed at improving the spectral properties of inorganic materials in the alkaline-earth metal fluoride group by coating with carbon nanotubes are reported using the example of the optical material MgF2. Modeling and data analysis show that the nanostructures obtained can be used as modern transparent optical elements, including nanostructured protective windows and plane-parallel plates for devices operating in the UV spectral range. The investigated structured magnesium fluoride can be used as a new engineering material for optical-emission and X-ray spectrometers.
