Stuttering tends to increase when the stutterer attaches prestige to the listener or when he evaluates the speaking situation as important. This variation of fluency within the social context raises questions about the stutterer's concept of himself in relation to others and about his reactions to success and failure. The present study is an attempt to obtain preliminary information through a level of aspiration questionnaire.
