In recent years, a great deal of effort has been applied to the development of methods for weighing objects in motion. In this paper, sources of error associated with dynamic weighing are outlined and various approaches to the problem are described with estimated results.A particularly effective dynamic weighing technique is described in detail and an example of its application is illustrated.

A résume of the theory of fluid flow measurement is given in a concise manner. The statistical method of evaluating overall system accuracy is discussed and the standard deviation values for various sources of error are quantified. The results of calculations using the formulae and quantitative data are presented graphically to indicate the accuracies for different methods of measurement at different rates of flow. Other likely sources of error are discussed.

As a modest contribution to the development of more problem-oriented control solutions, a simple on-line spectral-analysis process is presented and some of its possible applications discussed.
