LAURENCE E. PETERSON AND * ALLAN S. JACOBSON Department of Physics University of California, San Diego The results of X-ray observations on the Crab nebula since 1964 are briefly reviewed. The size of the X-ray emitting region is about 1.5 minutes-of-arc diameter centered on the amorphous region. The spectral data suggest a power law continuum between 1 and 500 keV. No polarization or X-ray and garnmaray line emission has been f6und, although data with more sensitive technique need to be obtained. Only upper limits to the flux are available above one MeV. Recently, pulsed emission at the same period and phase as that of the radio and optical pulsar has been discovered.
