Guest editors' note: Human resource management in New Zealand

Guest editors' note: Human resource management in New Zealand It is our pleasure to introduce this special issue of Asia Pacific Journal of Human Resources on human resource management in New Zealand. New Zealand is a relatively small country but with a well-founded reputation for business innovation and enterprise. HRM in New Zealand is also of direct interest to many HR practitioners in the region, particularly in Australia, because a lot of the larger NZ firms are owned by overseas investors. Many HR specialists report to higher level HR or general managers based in Australia, as, for example, in most of the finance industry. The papers in this special issue were chosen from a larger set of presentations given at the inaugural Research Forum of the Human Resources Institute of New Zealand (HRINZ), held at the University of Auckland Business School in November 2010. The forum was the first major public event organised by the Academic Branch of HRINZ, which was established in late 2009. It is a ‘virtual branch’, designed to complement and contribute to the geographic branches of HRINZ and embrace academics throughout the country. As far as we are aware, the formation of an academic branch in an HR professional association is a world http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Asia Pacific Journal of Human Resources Wiley
