Abstract

BOOK REV IEWS struggles for environmental action is already present in the environmental movement, which can thus be usefully studied as itself a religious phenomenon. Concluding as it does with the voices of two Jewish writers (both influenced strongly by Buddhism), Mysticism and Social Transformation points the way to a more extended conversation between plural religious and secular traditions about these matters than was possible in the historical periods treated in the middle sections of the book.
