LOCAL ARRANGEMENTS Las Vegas is one of the most rapidly growing cities in the United States, with a current population of over 1.5 million residents. It is recognized as home to some of the world's finest hotels, restaurants, and entertainment. Las Vegas provides a residence for countless production shows, musical groups, and performance artists. It also provides a regular stop for traveling productions, and is the frequent site of concerts from current popular visiting entertainers. Recent cultural additions to the city include the Guggenheim Las Vegas and the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art, both of which regularly display works by master artists. Las Vegas is also convenient for international travelers. It is a short commuter flight from Los Angeles, or less than a 5-hour drive along I-15. The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, (UNLV) is conveniently located within a 2-minute drive from MacCarran International Airport. UNLV is the largest academic institution in Nevada, and continues to grow beyond its current enrollment of approximately 23,000 students.
