Briefly Noted: Upcoming Conferences and Calls for Papers Bozeman: Conference Updates Briefly Noted: Upcoming Conferences and Calls for Papers __________________________________ Compiled by John Bozeman Center for Studies on New Religions (CESNUR), 20-23 June 2002, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. Call for papers: Organized jointly with the University of Utah and CESNUR, and in cooperation with the Institute for the Study of American Religion (ISAR) and the Brigham Young University International Center for Law and Religion Studies. This international conference will allow scholars from around the world to share their insights and perceptions concerning the reaction and adaptation of individuals, religions, and secular institutions to the growing diversity within many countries. The formal proceedings will begin on the evening of Thursday, 30 June, and will end on Sunday, 23 June. Before and after the conference there will be an opportunity to visit major attractions in Salt Lake City and other locations of interest in Utah. Speakers are invited from a broad range of disciplines, including sociology, anthropology, social psychology, history of religion, law, religious studies and theology. Graduate students are welcome. Unfortunately no scholarships will be available to cover the costs of travel or for hotels.
