Zunächst wird der Fall einer sprungartigen Änderung des Stromes behandelt und die gefundenen Ergebnisse mit dem Theorem von Duhamel auf den allgemeinen Fall beliebiger zeitlicher Änderung von Bewegung und speisendem Strom übertragen. Die Stromfunktion wird für den Sonderfall konstanter Drehzahl ausgewertet und diskutiert.
