Submissions were invited under the conference theme “Accounting and the State”, although papers were accepted across the full range of accounting history topics and methodological and theoretical perspectives. The conference venue – being close to New Zealand’s Parliament House – set the stage fittingly for discussion and analysis of the interface of accounting and the State.The conference was sponsored by the School of Accounting and Commercial Law at Victoria University of Wellington, CPA Australia and the Accounting History Special Interest Group of the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand. The Conference Convenor was Philip Colquhoun of Victoria University of Wellington.The three-day conference was attended by 101 delegates, representing 17 countries. A total of 114 papers were submitted for double-blind review. Of these, 78 papers were accepted for presentation, 14 were withdrawn and 22 papers were not accepted for presentation. Jayne Bisman of Charles Sturt University acted as Technical Program Coordinator to oversee the review process.Preview Only.
