At a University of California campus, for example, out of 1,800 representatives of two-children families, 63 percent were the first born. The average age of Senate committee chairmen is 66; of House committee chairmen, 65. 0 Even though private debt has increased sixfold since the end of World War II, its current ratio to the GNP is below comparable ratios in 1912, 1922, and 1929.
