(SOPHE) is a national professional association of health educators. The primary mission of SOPHE is to promote, encourage, and contribute to the advancement of the health of all people through (health) education. SOPHE's strengths come from its highly dedicated members and a network of active chapters. SOPHE has over 1000 members in 47 states and 15 foreign countries. There are at least twice that number of local chapter members in fifteen SOPHE chapters throughout the United States. Many national and local SOPHE members have participated in setting the 1990 Objectives and almost all are involved in programs that address the implementation of those objectives.
