School Achievement and Behavior of Children With Mild or Moderate Health Conditions

Abstract

This study examined regular classroom teachers' perceptions of the academic and social behavior of children with mild or moderate health conditions. It was found that children with certain conditions were more likely to exhibit school problems than were children with other conditions. Children on prescribed behavior-controlled drugs had the greatest evidence of school problems; those with hearing losses exhibited the most positive teacher-perceived behavior.
