Abstract
Western Journal of Nursing Research The question Ms. Tallman answered was "what is the pattern of change in plasma levels of glucose insulin and free fatty acids at three intervals after venipuncture?" She did not answer the question she asked. Prior to expending the energy and resources to answer her original question I would recommend that she answer the question posed by Dr. Lindsey and Dr. Cunningham regard- ing changes in catecholamines resulting from venipuncture. Single subject research designs are especially important in answering clinical nursing questions. I appreciate any endeavors on your part to accurately repre- sent the appropriate use of these research designs.
