The program steers clear of closed-panel medicine - long anathema to the organized medical profession - but can provide fully pre-paid coverage for every type of patient care and hospitalization. "It was discussed in San Francisco October 2 by a committee of the American Association of Medical Clinics, whose physician- members are holding their annual convention ... "Dr. Charles H. Cutler of the Sacramento Medical Clinic disclosed that the San Joaquin plan is about to be launched by the Sacramento County Medical Society. It is also in the planning stage in San Diego county, according to Dr. ,John M. Rumsey of the Rees-Stcaly Medical Clinic in San Diego. "Other counties where the program is either under way or under active study include Fresno, Santa Clara, Sonoma, Stanis- laus, Kern, and Riverside. The San Francisco Medical Society has appointed a study committee to look into the plan.
