News Brief Certification Applications Applications for certification as a “Nationally Registered Music Educator” are Available available to members currently teaching K-12 music. Membership Campaign Contest Every MENC member who recruits a new member between November 1989 and April 1990 will be eligible to win a new 1990 Ford Festiva in MENC's new member-get-a-member campaign. The new members will also be eligible. Complete rules were sent to all members in October and will appear in upcoming issues of Soundpost and the Music Educators Journal. Enter as often as you want! Members who plan to fly to MENC's national conference March 28-April 1, 1990, in Washington, D.C., and who buy airline tickets at least seven days in advance can receive up to 40 percent off coach fare and 5 percent off promotional fares from American Airlines and US Air/Piedmont.
