GAME REVIEW COMPUTER BISMARCK by Strategic Simulations, Inc. Dept. CC, 465 Fairchild Drive, Suite 108, Mountain View, CA 94043. $59.95. RICHARD L. SMITH University of Texas-Austin Computer Bismarck is a microcomputer-based historical wargame designed to simulate the attempted breakout of the German battleship Bismarck into the Atlantic in May 1941. The game can be played by one or more players. The complexities of the game may be difficult for younger players, but it should be suitable for persons of junior high school age or older. Playing time can run anywhere from thirty minutes to several hours, depending upon how many of the thirty rounds are played. A "save game" option allows the player to save a game in progress onto disk at the end of any round. This feature permits the game to fit into any time frame, since a previous scenario may be continued at a later time. The game comes with a thorough rule book (complete with a brief historical account of the Bismarck), a 5-1/4-inch disk, 2 laminated mapboard/turn record sheets, 2 ship/plane data cards, 2 system command cards, set-up instructions, and 2 grease pencils. The version tested runs on a 48K Apple II plus
