Abstract
EDITOR'S NOTES Innovative Practice Articles for Family Business Review Although the Family Firm Institute is heavily professional in terms of consulting and service to family businesses, Family Business Review seldom, if ever, receives any manuscripts that are significantly practice oriented. Most of the manuscripts are written by academics on topics in family business. Therefore, I would like to ask readers to consider submitting innovative practice articles to FBR. Here are a few guidelines for innovative practice articles: Innovation: The topic should be some practice or issue that is not commonly used by others in the field. It should be something that will help others improve the professionalism of the field. It should not be an advertisement or marketing item for your practice. Interest to FFI members: The practice or issue should be related to family business. Conceptual development: The practice or issue should be handled by a clearly defined, step-by-step process. Intellectual quality: Make sure that the process is thoroughly thought through and that others could use the process in their practice. Family business implications: The issue or practice should be clearly related to famiy business practice. These articles need not be long; ideally, the issue or the
