Abstract
NONTRADITIONAL RESEARCH Editors' Introduction ROYSTON GREENWOOD The use of stock option plans is pervasive but not without some contro- versy. There is limited understanding of why they are used and their effects. The study by Sylvie St-Onge, Michel Magnan, Linda Thome, and Sophie Raymond addresses these issues from, interestingly, the perspec- tive of senior managers, not from that of the principal. By using a multitheoretical approach, the authors produce some unexpected and intriguing insights. JOURNAL OF MANAGEMENT NQUIRY, Vol. 10 No. 3, September 2001 249 2001 Sage Publications
