Abstract
Caption: EDITORIAL Please notice the year and season of this issue. Because the last issue was labeled Winter 1997, you might be forgiven for wondering whether you missed some issues. Not at all. We simply brought the issues up to date with the actual mailing times; the discrepancy had crept up on us as slight delays in distribution times accumulated over the years. We have kept the volume and issue numbers consecutive, only changing the date. Subscribers should be assured that they have been receiving four issues a year all along. The Journal of early intervention is in very good shape, largely as a result of the excellent edi- torship of Steve Warren over the past 3 years. He instituted the lead articles and reactions from the field, which has made early intervention research somewhat interactive and therefore more interesting. As managing editor, I was fortunate to work with him. Together, we brought the jour- nal a step closer to the age of technology by copyediting and "typesetting" manuscripts on disk. Perhaps Dr. Warren's most important contribution as editor was preserving the importance of the Journal within the Division for Early Childhood. He was aided in this task
