However, in addition to exploring the ethical and philo. sophical bases of the Kibbutz and their performance, there are seven chapters on the Familý. Women and Socialization in the Kibbutz. These chapters emphasize the extent to which the Kibbutzm are based upon an all-embracing philosophy which transcends productive relations and penetrates all aspects of sociability. It is rewarding to find these essays alongside those on economic and ecological aspects and one gets a full appreciation of the rich complexity of Kibbutz life. The contributions are divided into four sections. The first comprising three chapters deals with philosophy and co-operative theory.
