Book Review: Moral matters: ethical issues in medicine and the life sciences
Abstract
and Bandman's Critical thinking in nursing. This publication is American, draws heavily on examples from the American health care system and professional groups such as the American Nurses' Association and does not apply critical thinking to ethics. While there are many excellent texts on ethics and nursing and/or health pro- fessionals (of particular value being Frank Lewins' book, which takes a critical social science approach to bioethics)2 none at this point extensively explore criti- cal thinking, or frame ethics within this context. Facts and values is therefore an invaluable text. Reviewed by Kierrynn Davis, School of Nursing and Health Care Practices, Southern Cross University, NSW, Australia.
